The Lodge

Nestled in the breathtaking Fljót Valley on the mountainous Troll Peninsula in northern Iceland, Deplar Farm embodies an adventurous spirit fueled by deep connections to extraordinary landscapes. Named one of 2023’s “Best Hotels in the World” on Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List, this reimagined 15th-century sheep farm features a turf roof and floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase otherworldly views.

Summer at Deplar Farm brings long days under the midnight sun, offering endless opportunities for mountain biking, sea kayaking, world-class fly fishing, hiking, and horseback riding. Eleven® guests have exclusive access to Iceland’s premier rivers, including the Fljótaá, known for Atlantic salmon and Arctic char.

When winter arrives, the valley transforms into a snowy paradise, perfect for cross-country skiing, fat biking, whale watching, and astro-touring under vibrant Aurora Borealis displays. The region’s maritime snowpack and abundant snowfall make it a dream destination for heli-skiing, with rolling descents and ocean-to-peak terrain accessible via two on-site helipads. If flight conditions don’t cooperate, our guides lead ski touring and other winter adventures to ensure no down days.

Back at the lodge, guests can unwind in the geothermal-heated indoor/outdoor pool with a swim-up bar, Viking sauna, cold plunge, and luxurious spa facilities with flotation tanks and massage treatments. Freestanding and intimate, Deplar Farm’s design naturally encourages exploration, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the awe-inspiring landscapes.
